Ride Day #2 Astoria OR to Kelso WA

We woke up to clear skies and a temperature of 39°. Today is scheduled to be only a 42 mile ride. They have one hill with a 6% grade for 1 1/2 miles that they are joking at. They are thinking they may ride more than expected in the north weather today as rain is forecasted for tomorrow.

A little maintenance.
The Pie Expert had his head down and missed this stop!

At one of the quick stops I mentioned that they had been riding for about 1 1/2 hours. “It seems like it’s been all day!”

What they rode through this morning.

At the last rest stop prior to the climb, the director of safety insisted both bicycles taillights received fresh batteries to enhance them being seen by the traffic. Their neon yellow jackets REALLY show up well but this adds another layer to them maybe being seen.

I failed to get video or a picture of the Lewis & Clark bridge from OR to WA….have I mentioned I don’t like heights?

I have slowed the APRS.FI tracking down from refreshing every 5 minutes to every 30 minutes.

Ride ended for the day at Circus Market, Kelso WA.

We took some time this afternoon to go to the Johnson Observatory of Mt Saint Helen’s.

Hope you enjoyed you little Easter snow in Missouri!
