Ride Day #10 Tekoa WA to Kellogg ID

The guys are climbing on their bikes in Tekoa WA heading to Kellogg ID. The temperature is 55° @ 0850. The 1st about 14 miles is on highway then they hit the Coeur d’ Alenes Trail for the rest of the day. We are in hopes that we will have cell coverage today & the guys will get to see some moose.

Hello Idaho!

After a break, turning off their safety lights, and removing their safety vests, they were ready to hit the trail. Next meeting spot is to be 24 miles at Cave Lake.

The wetlands specialist has identified this as the plant Moose Apples.
Detour ahead

Before we departed I put two granola bars in their shirts and said if we don’t meet this is lunch and I’ll see you in Kellogg. They both said that they’d probably never be on this trail again so they were going to take it slow.

No vehicle road to Cave Lake! NO Cell signal!

They did make it and had lunch. The temperature was 67°. They left they said the would see me at the resort in about 2.5 hours. We will need to restock some “supplies” tonight.

See! The trail is over there!
Smoke Signals!

The guys made it to the trailhead about 1700 & got checked in at the water park. The clouds have been thickening all afternoon.

Buck’s quote: It’s been beautiful downhill riding today.

Alan’s quote: The Coeur d’Alene trail is the most beautiful trail I’ve ever been on

  1. You guys did great today. I’m glad you enjoyed the Trail of the Coeur d’Alene- and no one hit that #@%& pole in the middleof the trail. It’s my favorite ride out here too. The bridge is fun and usually osprey in the nest on top. Hope the weather is ok tomorrow. You guys were my inspiration for 25 miler today.
