Ride Day #20 11 miles east of Lavina junction to (the spreadsheet says Melstone) but I also heard a Century OR Forsyth MT OR as far as they could go in the late start with a tailwind. FORSYTH

HUGE DAY TODAY!

The guys are getting in the last of the 1st 1,000 miles today. They are taking off from MM157 east of Lavina MT at 0932 with a temperature of 61°. Alan wanted me to only go a couple of miles since he had t ridden at all since the adjustment & new chain. He went past and said it was better than when he started the trip! They wanted 12-15 miles. I stopped short in Roundup MT since they had possibly needed “facilities”. They cruised on by so I went out to 15 miles.

After the 15 mile break they were averaging 18.5 mph. They wanted 18 miles! And I was to find a good place for a picture….HA! I’ve stopped 1/10th of a mile past 1,000 miles at a pull off for the picture! The temperature is 70°.

After some celebration pictures, drinks, & snacks they wanted 8 miles to Melstone for a comfort stop. There wasn’t one so they journeyed on.

They wanted to overtake Sumatra MT next.

After a break out of the sun & wind they were ready to hit it again. They wanted 12 miles and reevaluate.

At several of these rest stops today as I’m waiting on them I’m hearing the call of the meadowlark. I asked the guys if they had seen any rattlesnakes and the herpetologist said nope, just a brown snake.

That’s an Official Break!

Break after break they wanted 12 miles. I was told not to nickel & dime them. They wanted a full 12. Sometimes they got more than they asked for due to no where to pull over.

Buck’s quote. It was a beautiful scenery day. Transition seeing snowy peaks in the rear view mirror to buttes ahead.

Al’s quote. Buck, we’ve completed our century ride. Let us never speak of it again.

Day 20. (East of) Lavina MT to Forsyth MT. 115 miles 3042 feet of climb.

Congratulations on the 1000-mile mark. I’m glad Alan’s bike is better. I’m watching and living vicariously through you. Stay safe and GOD Bless!
