We had breakfast at Brenda’s Tumbleweed Cafe in Watauga. PLEASE order a full order of hash browns! The locals WILL laugh at you! The place doesn’t look like it’s open but Brenda can lay it out! She was a stunt double in Dances With Wolves.

We visited with Jim Hesslegrave who was staying at the hotel. He was on a prairie dog hunting trip. Later we drove into Lemmon, the largest town in a 90 mile radius. We went to The Grand River Museum, a MUST SEE!

We then went to the John Lopez Sculpture Gallery

Then we had to circle the Petrified Wood Park & Museum.

Lunch was had at the Chinese Garden where the waitress laughed at the boys when she heard they had ridden their bicycles over 1,000 miles.
