Alan was holding court at the C-Store in Bowdle SD & Jim stopped by on his way home and visited a minute. Then they climbed aboard their bikes at 0843 with a temperature of 50° & a west wind at 16mph. Before we departed a Dude asked about the antenna, he has one too. We visited and I had to get some info from him about a bicycle shop in Aberdeen SD.

I found a wind break to take a break at 20 miles. After a break they wanted another 20 miles.
I called Dakota Outdoors in Aberdeen to make sure they were open for service today & they were.
They wanted 20 miles. I pulled over about 10 miles in. I checked and they were about 3 miles away. I waited a while and checked again and they had passed me and were 7 miles up the road. we took a break at a spot that smelled like $.

They stopped in Aberdeen SD at Dakota Outdoors for some bicycle maintenance. It happened to be about noon so that meant it was feeding time too.

The map shows 51 miles after lunch to finish the day.

At the 1st stop after lunch they secured a room for the night in Webster SD.

Last break spot-Bristol SD. ONLY 11 miles to go for the day. A “short 56 mile day is scheduled for tomorrow”.

There sure appear to be a lot more boats at the motel than bicycles. They arrived at 1725 at Boomers Outback Motel.

Buck’s quote. Probably the only time in my life I’ll ride 200+ miles in two days….feels darn good to get off the bike. Thank the Lord for tailwinds and flat terrain!!
Al’s quote. What a great day. Flat terrain, helpful tailwind, sunshine and perfect temps (high near 70). And I never came off the big (speed) sprocket all day. That’s a first.
Day 26. Bowdle SD to Webster SD. 110 miles. 2330 feet of climb. Good long day with a helpful tailwind.
