Ride Day #43 Near Napoleon OH to Bellevue OH

0724 departure with a temperature of 57° and clear sky. Headed toward Wabash Cannonball Trailhead. They wanted this to be their first stop. On Google maps it looked like it was grass covered and By Golly, it is! They opted to ride the remote country roads until they got to where the trail was paved near Neopolis OH.

It appears like they have trails till Perrysburg OH which was yesterday’s stopping point according to the spreadsheet.

The decision was made to meet at the tennis courts at sidecut Metro Park. when I got there I couldn’t find them. I asked a couple and they had no idea there were tennis courts here. I then looked on the map and saw where the trail came in the park and parked in a lot next to where the map shows the trail. After the break in the park they decided to forgo the trip by Vito’s and meet at Hayden Custom Firearms in Stony Ridge OH.

On my way there, there were some folk on the 52 talking about a hamfest tomorrow in Monroeville. When they finished, I asked when/where the event would be held and they said in Monroeville MI. I said that wouldn’t work because I’d be in Monroeville OH. They said they didn’t even know there was one in OH.

Why do you need a train car in your backyard?

I parked in the shade at the meeting place and the people told me to get in their driveway because cars came around the corner at 50mph.

After their break they headed to subway for lunch.

Afterwards they headed to the N Coast Inland Trail which they decided it looked like it fit their needs.

N Coast Inland Trail

After a stop in a nice park along the bike trail in Lindsey they were off, next stop Maier Park in Fremont. They are thinking the stopping point for the evening will be in Norwalk. After not being able to find a place to stay there Bellevue was selected for this evening.

A balcony just for looks?

Buck’s Quote: Two days in a row of great weather! I’m very thankful for that. Very nice ride on the North Coast Inland trail today here in Ohio.

Al’s quote. We’re old. We’re slow. But we keep going to put in the miles on another long day.

Day 43. (near) Napoleon OH to Bellevue OH. 89 miles. 2,271 feet of climb. Second day of cooler temps was welcomed, and meant extra miles again. Nice paved trails for about half the day.
