I woke up and opened the curtains in the motel and made the proclamation that it was a beautiful day for a ride. They are getting ready to ride at 0700 with a temperature of 55° and some high clouds.
They were hitting the trail & I was driving ahead to get water, Gatorade, and a few other necessities. After I was finished, I punched the bicycle trailhead in the gps…the wrong trailhead. I finally caught up to them about 14 miles into their trip. They took a short break and decided we would meet at the Walkman Community Park. This will put them at 25 miles for the day so far.

The spreadsheet has them going only 31 more miles today but that will probably get stretched with the forecasted high temperatures coming Tuesday & Wednesday.

After that break they wanted 11 miles to 58 Marine. I was disappointed when I didn’t see an old department of the Navy guy there in his uniform! It was a boat storage place. I received a call that they had taken a trail and were north of me and not coming to the designating meeting place and I would need to find them. I got ahead of them and now wait at the Oberlin Trailhead.
The next stop was at the Jailhouse Taverne, east of Grafton, which was closed, but there was shade in the parking lot.
After a short break they traveled on another 8ish miles and found a spot that was open for lunch.
After lunch they wanted a break at Weymouth Community Church.
“Brunswick is on my blacklist! VERY rude drivers!”

Buck’s Quote: Good temperature today, but a tiring ride with rolling climbs at the end. The urban road riding as we neared Akron was tedious, with lots of traffic and very little shoulder.
Al’s quote. That’s 10 straight days of riding, and are now slightly ahead of our estimates. Woot woot!
Day 44. Bellevue OH to (NW of) Akron OH. 74 miles. 2,225 feet of climb. Cool day with intense sun.
