They were on their bikes before 0645, headed to McDonald’s for breakfast since the motel didn’t have one. The door said the lobby was open but the door was locked. They rode through the drive thru on their bicycles. The temperature is 67° and clear skies. They already have rooms booked for the next two nights-125 miles total. Today is the long 1/2. they started their ride and wanted 8 miles at 0707.
After a stop and some “desired” items found they were off for 15 miles.

There are FOUR B&B’s in a row here.
There is a group of about 15 locals getting ready for one of their triweekly rides. I visited with a couple of them and one fella had ridden the Katy Trail.
The next stop was at the Dawson parking area, Lunch Time!

After lunch under the bridge, the only shade there was they wanted 5 1/2 miles since the next stop would have been 24 miles. they have cut that down to 19 miles now. That’s where they will re-evaluate stopping for the day or doing another 10 miles.

I made it to Ohiopyle trailhead and my (the slave driver) vote that we stop for the day. I’m parked in the shade with the bike rack ready to load bikes.

As I’m sitting in PA about 7 feet off of the Great Allegheny Passage I’m hearing a rooster! I hope the rooster that crows next to my home is gone when I get back! OH, they came up the trail a different way and were by the car and we finally ran into each other.
After a break THEY wanted another 10 miles. They took off on the trail and I took off with NO Signal or map. I did find a street sign that said I needed to go 11 miles. Somewhere along the way I gained enough signal for the map to kick in. I didn’t have enough signal to hit the internet AND my phone says it’s in roaming and can’t use internet or make a call. On the bright side I did stumble upon how to use the vehicles gps.
