When they started it was about 37° with NO precipitation. There wasn’t any cell signal either but Alan started his tracking in hopes it would log it when he hit signal.

At the first break at about 10 miles in they wanted more so I went another 12. That leaves maybe 5 miles left on this part of Hwy 12. The next part has better shoulders.
After a break they have 7.7 left to Naches and that’s our next meeting spot.

On this break they were starting to shed clothes! The temperature is plum up to 54°. At Naches they are going to take the Yakima Greenway Trail and we are to meet at Shari’s Restaurant. It’s about 10 miles for us. I’m betting it won’t take them the predicted 49 minutes to get here as we are going to load the bikes & go to Los Hernandez tamales and then ride again in the afternoon. The spreadsheet has them going 83 miles tomorrow but they want to shave some of that off.

At lunch they decided they wanted another 20ish miles. After lunch there was a slight rain delay! After about 10 minutes of rain they were off…the rain came back. They made it to Moxee WA and had a break in the warm sunshine! They wanted another 10-12 miles.

I thought we would stop at Moxee Dairy. One of the riders was excited to end the day with ice cream.

Tomorrow’s ride is 83 miles on the spreadsheet but since they didn’t follow the spreadsheet today, tomorrow will be less.
Al’s quote: It was another bicycling first for me. Until today, I had never ridden in hail. Good thing it was small.
Buck’s quote: It’s good to get off of the bike. S
