Ride Day #9 Endicott to Tekoa.

The guys started out in Endicott with tentative plans to make Tekoa. There was some rerouting done as the old path was on gravel. This may even be a little flatter.

They farm on the hillsides around here!

At the 1st break at 10 miles they had averaged 10mph into the wind.

The second break is where we got gas this morning. It didn’t take long there and they were off again. This time to Oaksdale…mostly flat according to Google maps. 20 miles and they won’t have signal for navigation. So at the top of the 1st mostly flat there was a pull off that I took to wait for them.

Alan’s new favorite sign….it means the top is near.

After lunch they wanted 11 miles to Tekoa. Alan got word that his friend George was riding from Tekoa toward them and he is going to finish the day with them & ride the Coeur D’ Alenes with them to Harrison ID. The plan is to make it to Tekoa and re-evaluate.

Al & George

Al’s quote. The headwind made today’s first 20 miles feel like a full day’s ride.

Buck’s quote. Wheat, Wind, & Fatigue!

George’s quote. I got Alan into biking but I never thought it would come to this.

  1. Great to see these intrepid road warriors coming through the Palouse region today. I had to meet them at the border, raise the gate, and vouch for them before they could get into Idaho. 🤣 Ride on, numbnutz, I mean numbbuns.
